Description brendel 2005-04-20 10:41:12 UTC
This problem is illustrated with the attached jpg files :
I need to incorporate into OO documets regularly images from other programms
that contain mainly lines and some text. The only way to do this is to copy the
original (Original.jpg) and paste it into OODraw (PastedINtoOODraw.jpg).
Here the first problem is that the in the original hatched bars are black.
Then I use the Menu point Modify/Break to convert into text and line objects (I
get the same results using Modify - Convert to polygone) :
it works except that all text position is shifted to the right.
Not a major problem, but annoying enough to reposition all text objects

From which other program do you paste normally? Is this MapChart as visible in
original.jpg? And have you tried to use the other insert options like edit/paste
special ...if available? Thanks in advance.

Copying the chart and pasting it into draw shows the filling problem, breaking
the pasted chart shows the text-shift.

Reassigned.

Yes, MapChart is the programm. I have worked before with Powerpoint and
converting it into a MSOffice drawing and there is (for once :-) no problem.

I only get "GDI Metafile" as option for pasting.

I have also tried to create a bitmap in MSPaint with some lines and text and
pasted this into OODrawing and did Modify/Break and there it seems to work (the
text stays where it is). So it might be rather a problem how MapChart is
encoding the drawing ? However I have pasted this drawing into other programs
(e.g. a grafics viewer programm XnViwe ww.XnView.com, Powerpoint). There are no
problems with the text position and the hatched bar is also pasted hatched.
Pastinginto and converting in MSWord works also concerning text position and
hatching (however Word has a problem with vertical text :-)
MapChart can also export in EMF format (I attached MapChartEMFOutput.emf), but
when importing this as image and then Modify / Break I get the same results
concerning hatching and text position
