Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 54492
"Form Filter" Toolbar can be closed -> "Form Filter" unusable
Last modified: 2006-05-31 14:29:06 UTC
I unfortunately can't be too specific as I don't know exactly what caused this problem. I was creating forms in Base and to find records I used Filter by Form. In the beginning it worked beautifully, but at one stage it just stoppped working. Clicking the FBF button did open the data enter window, but the Form FIlter toolbar was gone, thus making the Filter by Form feature inoperable. This applied to all forms. I then installed a new hard drive and re-installed OOo (128). Now FBF worked great again. Then, to get my original settings back, I copied the old C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\OpenOffice.org2\user directory over the new one. This caused FBF to revert back to the problem state. Restoring the new C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\OpenOffice.org2\user directory cleared it up again. Unfortunately I am not technical enough to go beyond this stage in further investigating which settings file could have caused the problem. Gert Blij
Hi, The problem was that you close the form filter toolbar with the x. As a workaround to show the toolbar again do the following: - close the office and the quickstarter - go to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office\UI - in this folder there is a least a file called WriterWindowState.xcu. Open this file in any editor. - search in the file for the name "formsfilterbar" - go some lines down there is the string "Visible" - below change the "false" into a "true" - save the file and restart the Office - now the toolbar should be again available. msc -> fs: we should prevent the closing of the toolbar. Bye Marc
this is fixed in CWS dba201d. New installations of OOo 2.0.1 will not allow to close this toolbar anymore. fs->msc: For StarOffice, if install a product patch on top of a installed StarOffice 8, this again should result in a non-closeable toolbar.
fs-> msc: please verify in CWS dba201d re-open issue and reassign to msc
reassign to msc
reset resolution to FIXED
verified in cws dba201d
