Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 58830
it is impossible to enter some diacritical marks (e.g. d with an accent in Slovak language)
Last modified: 2005-12-11 18:46:56 UTC
same goes for some uppercase letters not available directly on the keyboard.
See page: http://www.fingertipsoft.com/ref/ce/cp1250.html accented D - character 207 on the page is impossible to be entered.
Reassigned to US.
I checked with “2.0 German version WIN XP: [680m3(Build8968)]†and was not able to reproduce that problem. @dusoft: Pls. contirbute some more details: - What LINUX-distribution do your use? - What OOo-"langeage pack" do you use? - How exactly did you try to insert those characters (Menu: "Insert - Special Character")? - Problem for all fons?
Well, I am using Slackware 10.2 with KDE as X windows manager. Problem disappeared when locale is properly set. Please, note that OO should maybe introduce its own handling of accented chaarcters not depending on windows manager. I was able to enter accented D in Firefox even before locale was set.
OOo already implemented locale-fallback but unfortunately this fails on some broken systems... *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 58856 ***
