Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 63003
Arrow heads point in wrong direction with very short lines.
Last modified: 2013-07-30 02:18:33 UTC
If you draw a *very* short line with arrows on both ends, the arrow heads point into the wrong direction. What you expect is that you get two arrow heads pointing away from each other, but what you get instead is something like a bow tie. This has to do with the fact that the arrow head starts at the beginning of the line, but for very short lines, the arrow heads themselves are longer than then line.

Reproducible. Reassigned.
AW->open_me: Checked again after primitives creation. I think this is not an error. How should this be handled different? The visualisation has to visualize the model definition. If the arrow is longer than the line, then it will of course reach over it. I see only one solution: The user defining something like this will have to make the arrows thinner/smaller, better fitting to the line he defines (also possible: move the HotSpot of the line start/end to the center of the line, see line dialog). If we would add some kind of automatism (which would be hard to define anyways - too many possibilities depending on user's taste) to e.g. shirinking automatically, i am sure we would get more tasks that it is not possible to define the arrow size independent from the line length. If You ask me, it works as intended.
