Description danstrome 2002-07-15 03:05:34 UTC
For text documents containing Input fields
(Insert > Fields > Other > Functions tab > Input field):

It would be useful for an Input field to have a
Max-text-length property. There is currently
nothing to prevent a mischievous user from pasting
5000 lines of text into the edit field and
completely changing the look of the document.
When you were asking the user to enter the
year, you might get something entirely different.
(No real harm would be done though.)

This would be similar to the Max-text-length property
for database fields or columns in a database form.

Hello Andreas, there would be some more fields affected. Do we have a
chance for this feature for Q?
Please give approval for this evaluated OO.o 2.0 flagged issue.
If you confirm with the target OO.o 2.0, then please keep it on your
owner (or the owner of the concerning developer) for implementation.
In case you want this issue for 'OOo Later', then please reset the
target milestone. If you decline the issue finally, please set the
resolution to 'Wontfix' (but do not close). In case of 'OOo Later' or
'Wontfix' please reset it on Bettina's owner. Thank you.

I don't think that we'll tackle this problem for OOo2.0.
