Description jotti 2006-07-17 09:47:37 UTC
Not familiar with this system, I decided to write in English and not in Sewdish. My problem is that OO
seems to treat two 'a' as 'å' when sorting. That probably is convenient in Danish text, and maybe
sometimes in Swedish text, if there are Danish names that have to be sorted. But if there are Finnish words
and names, the string 'aa' simply should be treated as two 'a' and sorted according to that.

Since I haven't found any settings in OO, which would change this, I assume it is hardcoded. It definitely
should be an option. I bet no logic can distinguish Finnish names like 'Aalto' from Danish names like
'Aarhus'.

Hi tbo,

Dont think this is one for me.
Could you please reassign to the correct developer?

Thanks,

Hi Frank

would this be one for you?
Comment 3 Frank Schönheit 2006-08-14 11:35:02 UTC
I cannot judge this without knowing what we're actually talking about :-\

http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html#reproducibility and
http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html#bugdoc are recommended
readings :)

So: what data are you sorting, in which application, how do you do this, what
platform do you use?
Comment 4 Frank Schönheit 2006-11-14 15:09:26 UTC
closing as invalid, since there's no response for a long time, and the current
description is not sufficient to reproduce the problem.

Feel free to reopen if you can provide more information.

As per previous posting: Verified -> Closed.
A Closed Issue is a Happy Issue (TM).
