Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 67728
writer2latex version unclear and old
Last modified: 2017-05-20 09:30:35 UTC
http://xml.openoffice.org/source/browse/xml/xmerge/source/writer2latex/source/writer2latex/Application.java?rev=1.2&view=markup says: 3.3.3j http://xml.openoffice.org/source/browse/xml/xmerge/source/writer2latex/source/writer2latex/Readme.txt?rev=1.2&view=markup says: Writer2LaTeX version 0.4 beta OK, when we assume the Readme is right and it was just not changed in the .jaav files this version is old; http://www.hj-gym.dk/~hj/writer2latex/ talks about 0.4 beta2 and 0.4 final which according to the homepage fix many bugs.. I think it should be updated.... [ And also I think that it might make sense to regularily update or make the development in-tree, like now with pyuno to avoid getting obsolete/ diverging ]
sus->rene: You are right, the version is unclear, but it is not old in OO.o. For instance, as a hint take in the look into the Application.java you linked and you will find a variable "private static final String VERSION = "0.4";" But I just download the 0.4 and made a DIFF over all java files, there are only two differences and those even without semantic value. Even the readme in the official 0.4 is stating to be the 0.4beta2. Grave is possilby an strange issue, the release engineering had fixed recently: writer2latex\latex\content\DrawConverter.java, line 196 " horizontal-on-even (vandret på ulige hhv. lige side)." where the danish 'a' results into an error under some Java machines of OO.o comunity members. But it might depend on the build environment of the community, therefore was not reported. Please address these issue directly to the maintainer / active members of the opensource writer2latex project. I put henrikjust on CC. Due my current work-load I won't be able to bring in the changes in OOo, either. Regards, Svante
Changing Summary from "writer2latex version unclear and old" to "writer2latex version unclear"
is now clearly visible in writer2latexexternal
re-adding the "old" since we're at 0.5 since longer, and now even have 0.5.0.2 :-)
