Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 70672
"Filter proposal" does not work with HSQL databases
Last modified: 2007-01-08 15:13:47 UTC
See http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=181826#181826 for details and how to duplicate issue.
clu->safway: please write issues in correct way, therefore read: http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/bug_writing_guidelines.html http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html p.s. links and document locations may change, but issues must be distinct readable a long time after creation, so everything that belongs to an issue must be in the issue description thx
Here are more details on the issue and how to duplicate: 1) Create a form with labels and text boxes in it 2) Select a text box only (not the label) as you want to control the text box properties 3) Select the "Data" tab withing the text box properties window 4) Choose "Yes" in the "Filter proposal" option if you propose (maybe you want to in the future) to filter the database contents based on this field. 5) Once you have chosen "Yes" in step 4 above, you are allowed to use a drop-down menu by performing the following steps. a) Go back to your form b) Click the "Form-Based Filters" icon near the bottom of the form c) ALL THE FIELDS YOU CHOOSE YES TO ARE NOW DROP DOWN MENUS AND SHOULD HAVE VALUES IN THEM. They don't have any values in them and this is the issue. Older versions of the software had drop down values.
i can repro that
set to 'new'
issue is not considered as a blocker for the next release
Note: This *never* worked for HSQL databases, not even in 1.x. It *always* worked for (most) other database types. In particular, it still works for dBase databases (as you can see with the Bilbiography). Thus I remove the "regression" keyword. Anyway, there was a bug (from the very beginning of the "form-based-filter" feature) which for some databases prevented OOo from obtaining the list content. Unfortunately, HSQLDB is one of those databases ... Fixed in CWS dba22a
