Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 71031
Let user ESCape the page-formatting task
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:20:07 UTC
Although the page formatting taslk is long-duration, it is not made ESCapable. The user should be able to terminate it by pressing ESC; so that he can go on editing the document. Sorry OD, but this is one of the "officially" listed GUI blunders; so I regard this as a defect; not an enhancement!
Adjusting issue type, because it's an enhancement. Applying target and adjusting priority.
Now the document has grown to 355 pages. I was using v2.1 till yesterday; and it worked stable for most part. (Well, it did crash once. The recovered document lost formatting for some paragraphs, such as bold, superscript, etc. I had to do that once again. But apart from that one crash, everything was OK.) But I downloaded the latest version m197, Because it has enhanced options for "export to pdf". But this version hangs within a minute of opening the document. My trick to click in the Navigator does not work. I think it is high time the ESCapability was introduced. Additional observation: I cannot split it into smaller documents because the text contains a huge number of links to bookmarks located in other parts of the document. Apart from the existing links, I create many new links whenever I edit. (Actually I do not know if I can split such a document without affecting existing links.)
Still no change in 2.2 RC4.
No change so far, because this issue is treated according its properties (issue type, priority, target, number of vote, number of duplicates, etc.). Currently, I'm owning several unsolved issues, which are more important than this issue and due to limited resources, I didn't found any time to work on this issue. I'm sorry, but please stay tuned.
move target to 3.x according http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Target_3x
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
