Description stx123 2000-10-30 14:28:00 UTC
Many values for fields in Issue Submission form make no sense for
OpenOffice.org. As discussed earlier we would like to remove vlaues for Platform
and OS.
Comment 1 Unknown 2000-12-11 21:59:11 UTC
This is doable. I'd estimate 4 hours time worst case, and as little as 15-30
minutes if theory that the following steps are all that need doing:
(1) check for and reset affected values in existing dump of 'issues' db,
(search for string-match in text-dump, then use sql to update affected rows,
do not dump/delete/reload, since this is live :-) ).
(2) then delete versioncache,
(3) and perhaps re-run checkconfig.pl... (try without first and if things
are horked, try again after running checkconfig.pl, then do #4).
(4) re-browse/reload desired page in browser.

I'm re-assigning this to bphipps, as he needs to determine what needs to be
done and who to assign to perform this work, and with which priority.
Comment 2 Unknown 2000-12-12 06:51:06 UTC
I will formalize the technical requirements with Sun,
verify the level of effort estimate,
determine the priority
and subsequently work with Chris to develop the required CollabNet staffing
plan.
Comment 3 Unknown 2001-02-02 00:36:42 UTC
Stefan and/or Michael,

Please specify which values you request to be removed in the drop down menus of
both Platform and OS.

Regarding Platform,
I assume you would want to keep:
 All
 PC
 Sun
but considering postings to the mailing lists,
what about Macintosh and SGI?
Any additional Platforms?

Regarding OS,
I assume you would want to keep:
 Linux
 Solaris
 Windows
but do you also want resolution down to the version?
Any additional OSs?
Comment 4 stx123 2001-02-02 19:56:45 UTC
Michael, are you able to specify the needed values for Platform and OS?
Comment 5 michael.bemmer 2001-02-06 10:38:37 UTC
Yes, I should be able to propose something. Will take me a few days, it's not
my highest priority.
Comment 6 Unknown 2001-02-09 04:03:18 UTC
Completely understood ...
please reassign to me after you specify the values.

In the mean time,
I will work with our resource manager
to plan and schedule engineering support
to implement the required changes
to the Issuezilla configuration SQL database and/or Perl/CGI source code.
Comment 7 michael.bemmer 2001-07-19 12:47:08 UTC
I'd leave the platforms as is, maybe one could add IBM, can't find that.

For the operating system I have the following suggestions:
to be removed: Windows3.1, SunOS (what's that?), all Mac versions, Solaris
to be added: Mac OS X, Solaris 7, Solaris 8, LinuxPPC

I guess for the moment this should be good enough. Any objections, comments?
Comment 8 stx123 2001-11-06 19:13:44 UTC

Comment 11 lsuarezpotts 2002-01-02 22:14:44 UTC
I think this issue should be closed because of inaction--perhaps a "wontfix."

Comment 12 stx123 2002-01-09 12:15:34 UTC
I don't see that inaction is a reason for closing.
From my point of view it's still a valid enhancement request, as
described by Michael Bemmer.
Comment 13 Unknown 2002-01-15 18:41:45 UTC
Reassigning support@ issues to issues@www so louis can go through these.
Comment 14 lsuarezpotts 2002-01-15 18:55:30 UTC
Reassigning to support

Comment 15 Unknown 2002-01-15 22:01:55 UTC
I'll take a look at this.
Comment 16 Unknown 2002-02-20 00:58:36 UTC
Created an internal issue (PCN8265) and assigned to instantiations
engineer.
Comment 17 Unknown 2002-08-21 17:32:18 UTC
queried our engineer on this again today
Comment 18 Unknown 2002-08-21 19:00:43 UTC
escalating internally so it will get some more attention.
Comment 19 Unknown 2002-10-30 00:56:25 UTC
Hi Stefan,
I reopend the pcn8265 which was closed due to the assigned engineer
feeling that the request is a one off customization. I reassigned this
to our enhancement manager to see if we could consider this for an
enhancement in a future release.
I will update the issue from here when I hear back from our
enhancement manager.

Hi Stefan,
Here is the latest informaion on this issue.

It is possible for the admin (project owner by default) to modify
both the
Platform and OS dropdown list entries for their project, as of
SourceCast 2.0.
OpenOffice will get this with their next upgrade.

Comment 21 stx123 2002-10-31 22:25:25 UTC
Hi, we would like to avoid, that we have to configure each project (IZ
component) separatly. Most of them have the same requirements.
So, is there a way to change the default for all projects or for new
projects? Is there a way to change several projects at once?
Thanks
Stefan
Comment 22 Unknown 2002-11-01 19:51:06 UTC
Hi Stefan,

I am checking with engineering again on your last update.
I will let you know what happens from here.
Eric
Comment 23 Unknown 2003-07-10 03:25:35 UTC
With Project Tracker (Scarab) you will be able to set the values for
these across projects. Unfortunately with IssueZilla, I did not find a
way to change the values for multiple projects at once.
Thanks,
Kristen
