Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 75877
Slow reaction in Conditional Formatting
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:13:43 UTC
When compared with MS Excel, Calc's algorithm for conditional formatting seems abnormally slower. Please see attachment. When you pull the scroll bar inside, the color will be changed slowly in Calc, but very very quick in MS Excel.

Confirming - Calc is substantially slower than competitor when I move scrollbar slider.

According to Issue 75877 this might be a regression bug.
Hi all, I did some further testing on this one. Please download my cond-formating.ods and try the following: OOo 2.2.0 change the value in cell A4 notice that updating the view takes some time: approx 12 sec (may vary) now, delete the view-split: Window > Freeze (uncheck) change the value in cell A4 notice that updating the view takes less time: approx 1 sec now, split the window again (in cell D4) change the value in cell A4 updating takes now: 1 sec save the file change the value in cell A4: updating takes now: 12 sec OOo 2.1.0 repeat above procedure updating will not exceed approx 1 sec Because performance in 2.1 was better than in 2.2 i mark this issue as a defect *and* a regression Greetz

Hi Niklas, checked it with the second attachment and even with cws aw046 it takes measureable longer to change the formats with freeze set compared to a document wihout window-freeze. Frank
change target from 2.x to 3.x according to http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Target_3x
According to http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Target_3x Regressions should not be moved.....
you're right, sorry this was an oversight.
no problem ;-)
The problem with cond-format.ods is related to issue 75877, and not the same as with Vertex42 gantt-chart-template-MF.xls, which this issue should cover. Adjusting target and flags.
"related to issue 84689", the previous comment should read.
