Description uowiec 2007-06-26 14:49:28 UTC
I called a search dialog box with ctrl+f in Calc. When selected searched text in
the dialog box and dragged on the spreadsheet the mouse coursor changed to an
arrow with a frame (like dragging cells) and plus sign, import from unicode text
dialog appeared and all OOo except quicklaunch hangs and soffice.bin and
soffice.exe takes near 0% of CPU. Closing the quicklaunch unhangs the
application but without quicklaunch running, OOo also hangs.

For spreadsheet issues, please select "Spreadsheet" component, not "Formula
editor" ;-)

Can reproduce with OOOm222 WinXP:

1) Open new Calc document
2) hit Ctrl+F
3) type something in Search field (like "Paraná Brazil") ( the strange here that
some words with accents works )
4) select the text with mouse
5) drag 'n drop it to calc document
6) the import dialog will open and calc will freeze

Workaround:
right click on Calc document in the windows task bar and OOo will be back

Thank you for reporting.

Hi Daniel,

please have a look at this one. I suppose that this is Niklas construction site
but also text import dialog is involved. Therefore assigned to you.

Thanks

Frank

move target from 2.x to 3.0
Comment 5 Czesław Wolański 2023-04-23 07:35:11 UTC
Tested on Windows - this issue is reproducible
up to and including version 2.3.1

It does not occur in any later release.
