Description Unknown 2002-09-30 17:27:43 UTC
When I open a ppt file, the text displays in a very narrow column, all
overlapped. Its as if the app has lost track of how wide characters are
supposed to be. Worse, trying to create a new staroffice document, I get the
same effect, and can't figure out how to fix this.

See http://www.homeport.org/~adam/openoffice.png for a screen shot.

Adam, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

This FAQ might help

Could you please attach the file that consistent reproduces this
problem?

Thanks for the pointer; I don't think any of those match my issue. If
one of them does, I'm happy to be corrected (although I reserve the
right to then open a doc bug to get the text clarified. ;)

I may not have been clear on this: *All* new openoffice presentations
show the same overlapping text affect as is demonstrated, as do
powerpoint docs I open. The attached doc is a brand new presenation
I created.

Oh yes, one last detail: Old presentations saved in .sxi still work.
The font is set to thorndale in both new and old presenations,
however, old presentations the letters don't jumble, new ones they do.

Having un-installed and re-installed, the problem is gone. I've
closed this and set it to WFM, which is now true.
