Description pikmaster 2007-09-13 14:35:44 UTC
Description of Problem - feature request:
One cannot set custom animation paths for objects in presentation. This results
in poor effects when converting from MS PowerPoint when such a path is defined.
Custom animation (movement) paths are converted to animation effects from
Impress, which results in objects moving into/from outer space instead just
moving to another place on the same slide.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open ws2.ppt from the attachment in MS Powerpoint
2. observe the movement paths of the sample document icon.
3. open ws2.ppt in OpenOffice.org Impress
4. see the same document icon animated

Actual Results:
In Impress there is no movement, elements just dissapear and appear in new locations

Expected Results:
The elements move with defined path, as in PowerPoint

How often does this happen?
alwayts

I see this is fixed in release 2.3.0, so I am closing it now.
Comment 3 pikmaster 2007-09-21 14:04:43 UTC
Reopened again and changed to defect. Custom movement paths are implemented in
OpenOffice 2.3.0 but still opening the presentation created in PowerPoint with
custom movement paths doesn't convert these movement paths into correct form.

The effect is the same, as in version 2.2, and probably 2.0 and 2.1 as well
Comment 4 pikmaster 2007-09-21 14:21:41 UTC
I tried to create a presentation ws3 (attached) in OpenOffice 2.3.0 with two
object and custom movement paths. Then I saved it as PowerPoint and opened in MS
Office.

The movement paths are not imported properly. What is strange, they are saved in
the document, because if .ppt file is opened in OpenOffice the movement paths
are still there, as originally defined.
