I recently Installed the latest version of OpenOffice on my PC, and without
opening the program, I switched on my Epson 1660 Photo scanner which immediately
began to make a rattling sound.

The scanner software (Epson Smart Panel with 3.5 Upgrade) was not open at this time.

I have decided to uninstall OpenOffice until this problem is resolved.

There are not enough information to start working on this issue. The component 
is also not correct. It is not posible to switch to the right one without 
specific information about the environment etc. The user told that he 
uninstalled OOo. So there are no further information expected. Therefore I 
close the issue.
