Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 92691
Glyphs for U+26xx are rotated wrongly in vertical writing
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:35:10 UTC
There is a room for slightly tweaking current implementation in order to render characters in a more appropriate way in vertical writing. For instance, it would be better if characters in a block of Unicode, named Miscellaneous Symbols ( 2600 .. 26FF ) [1], were rendered upright in both horizontal and vertical writing. Current implementation, however, regretfully renders some of such characters rotated in vertical writing. [1] http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U2600.pdf See a snapshot file for details. The bugdoc Unicode_characters_in_vertical_writing.odt was created in the following steps: 1. perl unicode.pl > Unicode_characters_in_UTF-8.txt 2. Open it with Writer 3. Change orientation and text direction in the menu Format > Page. Related issues: Issue 92648 Issue 92671 Question: How can we proceed regarding this issue?
