Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 96129
Mousewheel and mouse clicks do not advance slides with SPC
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:08:51 UTC
Normally one can advance the presentation be clicking the left mouse button of scrolling down with a muse wheel and go back one slide by clicking the right mouse button or scrolling the mouse wheel up, but when the Presenter Screen addon is installed (in OOO3 beta) these actions do nothing. This bug is VERY important because all experienced presenters use wireless mice or special presentation hardware (clickers) that advance slides by emulating a mouse wheel action and making all those devices fail with OpenOffice 3 new Presenter Screen feature would be unacceptable.
Note: this is not the same as issue 88836, as it only deals with the mousewheel on the Presenter Screen itself to scroll presentation notes and such. If the mouse is moved over to the projector screen (where the presentation is) the mouse wheel needs to work.
When I have clicked once intot the running presentation the mouse wheel works in both directions. When I have used the arrows of the presenter screen there seems to be a wrong focus. I have to click into the presentation window first, after this the wheel works again.
I would love to see this fixed rather sooner than later...
Has the mouse wheel issue been advanced by the beta OOo 3.2.1? See http://development.openoffice.org/releases/OOO320m16_snapshot.html and particularly discussion of a mouse wheel scroll addition to the API. See also http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=99704 - which is already referenced from the above page.
