Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 96548
Text object selection behavior is inconsistent
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:33:31 UTC
The buggy behavior can be illustrated with a drawing file containing the following, in order from back to front: - A large rectangle (referred to below as "Rectangle 0") Entirely within Rectangle 0: - A large text object (large font size) ("Text 0") Entirely within the boundary of Text 0: - A small text object ("Text 1") - A small circle object ("Circle 1") - A small text object ("Text 2") - A small circle object ("Circle 2") If nothing is selected and one clicks within the boundary of Text 2, then Text 2 is selected; likewise, clicking within Circle 2 selects Circle 2, and selecting within Circle 1 selects Circle 1. However, clicking within Text 1 selects Rectangle 0!
Created attachment 58267 [details] Drawing file illustrating bug; clicking on "Text 1" selects the rectangle.
Same behavior in OOo 2.4 under Ubuntu.
I can see the error only, if option "PickThrough" is selected. Even if you zoom so much, that you surely hit the text, it goes through and selects the rectangle. I use OOo3 on WinXP.
Reproducible. Reassigned.
Set keyword.
I can reproduce in 3.1.1 Windows. Now trying with 3.2.0 Linux X64 EN-US: clicking within Text 1 now selects [Text 1] and not Rectangle 0. So seems to be corrected?
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
