I'm trying to open password protected files of microsoft office 2000 in Open 
office  1.0.1 , but it's giving me error. 

Is there any patch or way in which files can be opened.

I don't know if this is the right place, but 3.1 does not register as a
programme nor does it provide a place to register it as the primary programmme
to work on MS Office documents when one installs the programme or uses the
Control Panel "Change" system as in all previous issues.  Thus the computer does
not recognise OOO files nor doc, xls or pps files.
