Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 11602
Need the ability to sort by the 2nd or 3rd word on each line.
Last modified: 2014-04-18 13:59:53 UTC
Lets say you have a list of first and last names. This feature that WordPerfect has will allow you to sort by the words on each line. George Washington John Doe Hansel Roush George Bush If I was in WP I could sort the list above by last name by defining in Sort to sort Alpha by the 2nd word. I wish OO had this feature.

This is still a feature wish request in OOo 2.4 ... This seems to work if you select column number of the word and select Character in the Separator section and put a space in the text box, however this would be much simpler and user friendly if you could have options to select ie 2nd word, 3rd word, 4th word of each line
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
Confirmed with AOO410m14(Build:9760) - Rev. 1573062 2014-03-01_04:11:01 - Rev. 1573123 Debian
