Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 27840
Its possible to insert objects into protected tables
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:13:46 UTC
- Please open a new spreadsheet - select "Extras/Dokument schützen/Tabelle..." (german version) - drop down a or right-click to insert a picture from the Gallery to the spreadsheet: It's possible! Also CTRL+V works if the clipboard contains graphics. (Only the GUI-elements to paste are disabled.) I have not tested if inserting into protected tables also works for other (non- graphic) objects.
(I have increased prio to 2, because this should really be not possible.)
Hi Niklas, this one is for you. Frank

Due to time problems this is re-targeted to OOo2.0
There is a similar bug with locked layers in Draw (pasting disabled in GUI but CTRL + v works), so this could be a framework bug: Issue 68628
cannot reproduce in 2.4.0 seems to be fixed in the mean time ...
Right click a image of the gallery insert/copy still adds an image into protected tables on OOo 2.4 Linux. (I have not tested Windows build.)
@ norbert: Indeed, the same still works on Windows builds. I only tried D&D.
Not only pictures, also OLE objects can't be inserted into protected tables. Steps to reproduce: 0. open my "sampledocument.ods" from Issue 108009 1. Cell Cursor on 'E20' 2. Menu 'Insert -> Object ->' expected: it should be possible to insert some objedt, I can't see any reason what protection would be violated actual: all items greyed out Same with "Insert Picture". There is no logic in that behaviour, you can copy paste objects from sheet 2 to 'sheet1.E20' without any problem. @nnCan the scope for this issue be extended to cover this OLE objects issue, so that Issue 101866 becomes a DUP of this one?
