Description stx123 2001-01-15 16:00:13 UTC

Comment 1 stx123 2001-01-15 16:07:07 UTC
Please create the mailing list features for the projects
gsl, oi, porting, script, ucb,udk,util
with the appropriate flags as for other features@ lists (no public posting,
usage of ooposters, ...)
Comment 2 Unknown 2001-01-16 04:23:15 UTC
I"ll take care of this.

Comment 3 Unknown 2001-01-16 04:25:10 UTC
As this relates to mailing lists,
reassigning to goolie
for ownership
(to coordinate technical support as required toward resolution).

Please Accept Issue
and follow-up, toward resolution.
Comment 4 Unknown 2001-01-16 04:34:04 UTC
Accepting issue
Comment 5 stx123 2001-01-16 09:41:35 UTC
I set the priority to 2 because processes like QA and documentation depend on
feature messages. At the moment developers of projects without features@ are
confused where to send the messages.
Comment 6 Unknown 2001-01-19 02:05:02 UTC
Stefan,

Instead of a "features" list for each of these projects, how about a more general "announce" list. This will cover not only features, but anything else project leaders care to announce.

I'm just thinking that perhaps such a specific announce list for these small lists would be less usefull at this point then a general, catch-all announce list.
Comment 7 stx123 2001-01-20 21:58:35 UTC
As you may see in http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html the features@ lists
are published and in usage. Most projects already have them and now this list
should be created for the remaining projects too. Announcements are seldom but
features are already in the queue.
Please assign this issue to the technical responsible owner.
Comment 8 Unknown 2001-01-23 02:25:12 UTC
Stefan,

I have created features lists for each of the lists you requsted; they should
be ready to use.

You should probably send test mail to each to assure the ooposter functionality
is working.

I will close this issue out next week if i don't hear anything.

Comment 9 stx123 2001-01-23 13:36:32 UTC
I tested features@ucb. This list doesn't accept mails containing HTML.
Please allow HTML for all the features lists (as the old one - sw, sc, ... do).
Comment 10 Unknown 2001-01-23 19:47:26 UTC
same as issue #307. Will add Stefan onto #307 and continue to research.

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 307 ***
Comment 11 stx123 2001-01-23 20:18:08 UTC
Please do not mix up differrent issues.
Bill is asking for sending digests in HTML by ezmlm in 307. This may be an
enhancement for ezmlm.
What I'm asking for here is, that ezmlm should accept HTML for the new features
lists. This is configurable and works for the old features lists.
Comment 12 Unknown 2001-01-23 20:25:16 UTC
Understood and accepted.
Comment 13 Unknown 2001-01-24 17:17:47 UTC
If this works for some but not all lists, then the basic problem is almost
certainly the "A few extras" option in the advanced mailing list edit page.
Turn that option off, and HTML email should be accepted.
Comment 14 stx123 2001-01-24 18:34:49 UTC
You are right, this option in fact differs between the new features@ucb and the
old features@sw beside others.
My current understanding is, that a change of options remotely via admin
interface shouldn't be done to avoid destroying the configuration (respectiong
ooposters, ...).
Comment 15 Unknown 2001-01-24 23:06:38 UTC
Stefan,

This used to be the case, but it is my understanding that we've fixed this.
Ed, this is the case, correct?
Comment 16 Unknown 2001-01-26 19:28:34 UTC
As far as I know, the Admin UI for all of the OpenOffice mailing
lists can now be used. Edk has made the necessary modifications
to the mailing list configuration code to allow the special
ooposters functionality.

I have made sure all of the lists Stefan mentions above have the 'A few Extras'
config option set.

If you have any other problems with this please re-open this issue.
Thanks SHane

Comment 17 Unknown 2001-01-26 20:50:53 UTC
Ok, I have verified that the UI interface can be used for the mailing
lists on OO, and I have made sure the 'A Few Extras' option is
off for the features list below. I didn't check all the features
lists, just the ones in this bug report. (ie if the others work
then don't change them).

Thanks and sorry for the delay
Shane
